BIOGRAPHY

Annie DuBose is a strategic and solutions-focused attorney with eight years of experience in litigation, employment law, and advising small businesses. Before joining Canopy Business Law, Annie practiced at two of Minnesota’s top law firms and clerked for a federal judge on the U.S. Court of International Trade. She now helps clients navigate legal disputes, manage risk, and resolve issues with confidence and clarity.

After several years away from traditional practice, Annie returned to law with a renewed fire for helping others build, grow, and protect what they’ve worked hard to create—whether it’s a business, a brand, or a legacy. During that time, she launched and scaled multiple ventures that sharpened both her business acumen and her empathy as an advisor. She brings that dual perspective to her work with business owners, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit leaders navigating complex legal questions and strategic decisions.

At Canopy Business Law, Annie advises clients throughout the full life cycle of a business—from formation and contract review to employment matters, dispute resolution, succession planning, and even estate planning. She is especially passionate about helping business owners and entrepreneurs find practical, strategic solutions that support both their day-to-day needs and long-term vision.

Education

Annie earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she also completed a master's in Agricultural and Applied Economics. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was a three-year letter winner on the Division I Women's Rowing Team at Wisconsin as well.

Interests

Outside the office, Annie is a connector at heart. She co-founded Women of Impact, a leadership collective for mission-driven women, and lends her time and talents to Connections to Independence, where she helps plan their signature Kentucky Derby Gala. Whether she’s building community or building businesses, Annie brings energy, strategy, and follow-through to everything she does.

Annie is a die-hard Badger fan. She now lives in the Twin Cities with her husband, their two amazing kids, and enough coffee beans to run a small empire.
